Spring Walk

Spring Walk

Lovely walk last weekend. We went from Fowey over to Polruan on the passenger ferry then turned left to follow the Hall Walk route but then headed inland, passing the pretty Lanteglos Church then across to the National Trust car park above Lantic Bay. Half of us braved the steep descent down to the bay whilst the sensible half advanced to The Lugger Inn at Polruan. The beach was lovely and so different to the times we head round there on the water in warmer months. The steep walk back up to the coast path is challenging but by the time we reached Polruan we felt we deserved our pints of St Austell Brewery's Korev !

Summer on the way!

Summer on the way!

Summer seemed to be with us over the Easter Weekend, the harbour looked magnificent and everyone is now hoping for more of the same during the Summer ahead.

With The Fowey Literary Festival, 4 days of events to mark the 75th Anniversary of D Day and Fowey Royal Regatta still to come, along with many other local events there are plenty of reasons to plan a visit to Fowey.

Please contact us for latest availability but at the time of writing we do have a selection of May, June and Summer holiday weeks still available.

Readymoney's New Beach Shop

Readymoney's New Beach Shop

Cleverly converted from the 'usually closed' WC's at the beach, Fowey resident Victoria Clarke has seized the opportunity to bring this great new venture to the beach.

Offering a wide range of beach essentials as well as drinks, snacks and the all important ice creams the shop is proving a great success with visitors of all ages. The Moomaid of Zennor ice cream and the Proper Cornish pasties are not to be missed and their own branded enamel mugs make a great souvenir.

In addition the new owners have undertaken to provide ongoing (and free!) WC facilities at the beach, which as every parent knows are almost as essential as the ice creams for a beach visit!

Fowey for Autumn, Christmas & 2018

Fowey for Autumn, Christmas & 2018

We've now published our rates for 2018 here, however if you can't wait that long we still have availability for 2017 and the Christmas period.

As the boats are lifted out of the harbour for the Winter the estuary takes on a completely different character. Beat the crowds and capture beautiful Autumn sunsets over the harbour before a visit to one of Fowey's excellent pubs or restaurants.

Please contact us for further information or about short breaks if you can't fit in a whole week!

Fowey beer

Fowey beer

Great to find these recent additions to the craft beer scene when down in Fowey, would have been great souvenirs or gifts for someone had I not drunk them down there!

From Fowey Brewery's website:

" Inspired by this amazing part of Cornwall, each beer has very different characteristics; from our light refreshing Lerryn Blond brewed using a German Kolsh yeast through to our full bodied Golitha IPA with its exceptional blend of hops from around the world… Our mission is to prove beer really can be different."

The Readymoney Pale Ale, a hopped American style ale, was inevitably the winner for us, look out for them next time you are in the area.
